How To Sail Away From Negativity

Negativity is poison – poison for the mind, poison for the Soul, and poison for the body. And it’s crucial for us to learn how to sail away from it.

On a regular basis, we interact with all kind of people – happy people, angry people, people who are frustrated and depressed, people who unhappy with themselves, their lives and everything that happens to them and all around them, people who might be going through some difficult times, etc.

And no matter how positive we might be and no matter how many times per day we might meditate and do our best to remain positive, we might encounter people with very negative energy that will manage to drag us down and to make us feel as drained and as exhausted as they are. And when that happens, you have to find a way to sail away from all that negativity and you have to make sure that you don’t let their negativity become your own.


Here are 3 things you can do to sail away from negativity and continue to be the positive, happy and loving person you know yourself to be:

1. Don’t take anything personally
“Don’t take anything Personally Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz
You and I know how mad we get when somebody who is having a bad day, is projecting all their anger and frustrations toward us. Instead of staying aware, instead of remaining in our bodies and energy field – realizing that where they are and what they say or do has nothing to do with us, we take it all so personally.

The way these people talk, the way they treat you, has little or nothing to do with you. Did it ever happen to you to have a bad day and start arguing with a lot of people, especially those close to you, finding faults in them, getting angry about every little thing they said or done?

It’s the same thing with these people, and unfortunately, only a few people know how to clear themselves of all that negative energy, while others don’t have a clue. They are gathering all of this negativity and frustrations within themselves, and in the end, they make it all of their own. All of that becomes a part of themselves, something that defines them. This is who they now are, this is how they see themselves, as angry, frustrated, and highly negative people.

2. Make use of the Shield Of Light

Whenever you are faced with a negative situation, whenever you are in a hostile environment and whenever you feel how negativity is being directed your way, visualize a bright white light surrounding you from head to toes. This shield of light will protect you from all the negativity around you helping you feel safe and protected.

This is a cool trick I use very often. Makes me feel like a Jedi.

3. Send them love
“Perfect love casts out fear. If fear exists, then there is not perfect love.” ~ A Course in Miracles
Another thing that I do whenever I am faced with negative people or situations is to send them love for who they are underneath it all and silently thank them for all the lessons they are here to teach me. By doing this you will feel liberated and you will become a lot more peaceful, happy and serene and their negative behavior will no longer bother and affect you like it used to.

Energy is contagious, and by raising your energy up to a higher level, you will elevate those around you, especially the negative people with your positive and high-quality energy. And instead of you going down to their level you help them to come up to your level. You help them to become more relaxed, more peaceful and a lot happier.

That’s about it. If you practice these 3 things properly and if you do them consistently things will change for the better and there will be less and less negativity in your life.
