This ancient technique does wonders for the human body, and it is not a myth.

Looking directly into the Sun, or Sungazing was a very common part of many religious and spiritual practices in the past. Many past societies, among which the ancient Egyptians, Mayans, Indians believed in the power of the Sun. Sungazers are supposed to stand barefoot on the earth during this practice and although many consider it a myth, it have been acknowledged and recommended as beneficial practice by the scientists.

Why should a living being not be able to obtain all the energy it needs for the performance of its life functions from the environment, instead of through consumption of food, and transforming, by a complicated process, the energy of chemical combinations into life-sustaining energy?”

This technique that heals the mind and body was popularized by Hira Ratan Manek and was tested by NASA.

About the benefits of this practice, here are some of them:

1. The direct sunlight you are subjected to by gazing at the sun stimulates the pineal gland that boosts the secretion of serotonin and melatonin, or our feel good hormones. These hormones are considered to be responsible for increased energy levels.

2. It increases the size of your pineal gland. As we age, the pineal gland normally shrinks. However, researches show that people who practice sungazing have bigger pineal gland.

3. It is believed that the energy from the sun nourishes our body and mind. This way sungazing enables us to lose the desire and need to eat and therefore it promotes weight loss in a healthy way.

People in the past had plenty of techniques that were the key to many healthy problems. Nowadays we may have to popularize those techniques and have trust in the knowledge of our ancestors.
