Here’s how to clean out your ears properly and remove ear wax at home according to ENT.
It is thought that human ears can clean by themselves trough chewing, sneezing and coughing.
In each of these small and sudden movements, deposits of wax (cerumen) are eliminated.
But sometimes it happens, for these deposits which are accumulated in the ear canal to turn into “plugs“ clog the ears.
In such cases it is necessary to make ear irrigation. It’s best to visit a doctor for that, but also this natural procedure can help you a lot, and you can make it at home.
The simplest and most accessible agent for ear irrigation is a solution of hydrogen peroxide. It is recommended to apply it immediately when you feel uncomfortable, and notice that your ears are full with wax.
Here’s what you need to do:
Using a pipette place 4-5 drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide in your ear.
You have to tilt your head, or even better if you lie down and stay in this position for about 5 minutes. You will feel the characteristic hissing sound in the ear, meaning that there was a reaction and ear wax is getting softer.
Then wipe with a paper towel. During the procedure, do not use cotton swab.
If after the first time you have not felt significant relief, repeat the procedure again after a few hours. You can also repeat the same procedure the next day.
