We are all aware that consuming unhealthy food is bad for our health but it is still difficult to stop consuming it. If you want to change your diet, reduce the desire for processed food and start with detoxification, you must try the below mentioned 3 day-cleansing treatment.
■ Before you start with detoxification stop consuming dairy products two days previously as they are slowly digested and can prevent the cleansing treatment. Your body must be clean from toxins found in dairy products before it starts with cleaning of the lungs.
■ First drink 1cup of herbal laxative (e.g. Black Forest) tea the night before you start with the cleansing process which will help in cleaning the intestines from toxins that can cause constipation. Your lungs shouldn’t be overloaded by blockages in the body within the process of detoxification.
■ Prepare a drink with lemon juice obtained from 2 whole lemons and a 1/2 cup of water and drink it before breakfast. This will help in digestion of powerful alkaline foods which on the other hand will help your lungs to regenerate.
■ When you consume your breakfast, drink 1.5 cup of grapefruit juice. In case you do not like the taste of this juice you may dilute it with fresh water of replace it with pineapple juice. Grapefruit and pineapple juice are rich in antioxidants that keep the respiratory system healthy.
■ Then drink 1 to 1.5 of pure carrot juice between breakfast and lunch because this juice will help in alkalizing your blood during the detoxification treatment. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene which the body turns into vitamin A and that is why they are beneficial for the respiratory tract.
■ During the lunch drink 1.5 cups of potassium juice because potassium is powerful antioxidant which is great for cleaning the body especially if consumed as a liquid. In order to obtain juice rich in potassium you need to squeeze celery, parsley, sea greens, carrots and spinach. If you do not have juicer use Noni juice mixed with one cup of water. You can buy Noni juice in healthy food stores and there are several brands on the market. So be careful and buy pure Noni juice.
■ One hour before dinner drink 1 cup of mucus-cleansing tea. This tea is rich in ginger, rose hips and peppermint. All of these herbs are great against mucus build up, stuffy nose and congestion. You can find this tea in supermarkets and healthy food stores
■ Before going to bed drink 340ml of pure cranberry juice as it helps against bacteria in the lungs which can cause infection. They are powerful antioxidants and are quite beneficial for your blood and urine.
