The phytochemical known as quercetin found in Oregano is potentially active against prostate cancer. Quercetin further inhibits the growth of malignant cancer cells and acts as a medication against cancer disease. The natural food preservative, cinnamon, contains calcium and iron, which is helpful for reduction of cancer cells growth in the body. The consumption of a glass of milk with cinnamon and honey during bedtime would help to prevent cancer in the long run.
Ginger is another significant spice containing medicinal properties, which increases metabolism, reduces cholesterol, improves digestion, and inhibits cancer cells growth. Ginger could be added to the dishes easily for enhancing the flavor of vegetable preparations and to derive its health benefits. The other significant spices which prevent cancer are anise, cloves, fenugreek, mustard, basil, caraway, garlic, rosemary, mint leaves, fresh lemon, virgin olive, avocados, and vinegar, which could also be used in Indian cooking in order to get its health benefits and for the prevention of ill health.
