“Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is Enlightenment” - Lao Tzu
Someone has left a comment on the recent article that I wrote about “5 signs of an energy vampire” saying that I am “not a very enlightened person”. I am actually very thankful to that person since that comment got me thinking – what does it actually mean to be enlightened and what are the conditions that could characterize an enlightened person.
Throughout my life I’ve read many inspiring books, met many wise teachers and took various self-development courses (even started my own practice). One of the main goals for acquiring all that knowledge was to reach the state of enlightenment or at least know how to get there.
- “… flies to the highest point”.
- “… does not suffer for company, not even of its own kind”.
- “…aims its beak to the skies”.
- “…does not have a definite color”.
- “…sings very softly”.
- “… when the right time comes, knowledge has to be shared”.
One thing remains true, if you already asking yourself about your purpose in life, about how you can discover and realize the potential that was given to you by Nature, you are on the right track. If you have a question, the answer will always find the way to get to you so you can improve the script of life you are writing every day.
