Her Family Stopped Eating Sugar for A Year, and This is What Happened

by Eve O. Schaub
via The Mind Unleashed

Once upon a time, I was healthy; at least I thought I was.

Sure, I lacked enough energy to get me through the day, but with all the commercials on TV touting energy drinks for America’s tired masses, I always assumed I wasn’t the only one suffering. And sure, everyone in my family dreaded the coming cold and flu season, but again, I thought come January everyone develops some degree of germophobia.

At least, that’s what I thought until I heard some disturbing new information about the effects of sugar. According to several experts, sugar is the thing that is making so many Americans fat and sick. The more I thought about it the more this made sense to me — a lot of sense. One in seven Americans has metabolic syndrome. One in three Americans is obese. The rate of diabetes is skyrocketing and cardiovascular disease is America’s number one killer.

According to this theory, all of these maladies and more can be traced back to one large toxic presence in our diet… sugar.

A Bright Idea

I took all of this newfound knowledge and formulated an idea. I wanted to see how hard it would be to have our family — me, my husband, and our two children (ages 6 and 11) — spend an entire year eating foods that contained no added sugar. We’d cut out anything with an added sweetener, be it table sugar, honey, molasses, maple syrup, agave or fruit juice. We also excluded anything made with fake sugar or sugar alcohols. Unless the sweetness was attached to its original source (e.g., a piece of fruit), we didn’t eat it.

What they won't tell you: The sun is a full-spectrum medicine that can heal cancer

by Paul Fassa

"Those that have attempted to convince the world that the Sun, the Earth's primary source of energy and life causes cancer, have done so with malicious intent to deceive the masses into retreating from the one thing that can prevent disease." -- Dave Mihalovic, Naturopathic Doctor and writer. [1]

Truth is, we've been systematically lied to about the sun and skin cancer for years. This video presentation explains fully. How many know that there is no definitive proof that the sun alone causes skin cancer? [2]

Can the sun cure cancer?

In the book The Healing Sun, author Dr. Richard Hobday documents a wide array of studies which show that the sun protects against cancer of the breast, colon, ovaries and prostate. It can also prevent diabetes, multiple sclerosis, heart disease and high blood pressure, osteoporosis, psoriasis and seasonal affective disorder (SAD). [3]

How to Enslave People With Addiction

by Charles Eisenstein, The Fix
Waking Times

Be it drugs, alcohol, porn, overeating or whatever your personal addiction, put an abuser in a playground and see what happens.

You’ve probably heard about those addiction studies with caged lab rats, in which the rats compulsively press the heroin dispensing lever again and again, even to the point of choosing it over food and starving themselves to death. These studies seemed to imply some pretty disheartening things about human nature. Our basic biology is not to be trusted; the seeking of pleasure leads to disaster; one must therefore overcome biological desires through reason, education, and the inculcation of morals; those whose willpower or morals are weak must be controlled and corrected.

The rat addiction studies also seem to validate the main features of the War on Drugs. First is interdiction: prevent the rats from getting a taste of drugs to begin with. Second is “education” – conditioning the rats into not pressing the lever in the first place. Third is punishment: make the consequences of taking drugs so scary and unpleasant that the rats will overcome their desire to press the lever. You see, some rats just have a stronger moral fiber than others. For those with a strong moral fiber, education suffices. The weak ones need to be deterred with punishments.

All of these features of the drug war are forms of control, and therefore sit comfortably within the broader narrative of technological civilization: the domination of nature, the rising above the primitive state, conquering animal desire with the mind and the base impulses with morality, and so forth. That is, perhaps, why Bruce Alexander’s devastating challenge to the caged rat experiments was ignored and suppressed for so many years. It wasn’t only the drug war that his studies called into question, but also deeper paradigms about human nature and our relationship to the world.

Banking Secrets Revealed: Why the Dollar Could Lose Its Status as the World’s Reserve Currency

by PL Chang
Energy Fanatics

Ever since I went public nearly six years ago by publishing some articles about the secrets of the banking industry, I have been warning people that there is a good chance the dollar could lose its status as the world’s reserve currency. The idea that the dollar could lose its status as the world’s reserve currency is often laughed at by conventional economic experts. These so called economic experts are often arrogant and ignorant, which is why they have such a hard time accepting the possibility that the dollar could collapse.

The current dollar, also known as Federal Reserve note, is a financial instrument based on fractional reserve banking principles. In other words, the current dollar is a note that relies on debt to survive. Monetary systems that rely on debt to survive will always collapse. Why? Because the debt they accumulate will keep compounding until it grows so large that the government won’t be able to pay the interest of the debt. When this happens, we will experience another major economic collapse. The good news is that most debts are fraudulent and thus we aren’t obligated to pay them. How do I know that they are fraudulent? Read further and you will know why.

The picture of the one dollar bill below is evidence that the dollar is a debt instrument and not actually real money. When you look at the image, pay attention to the phrase “FEDERAL RESERVE NOTES” at the top of the front side of the one dollar bill.

Transcending the Parasitic Fear Agenda

by Zen Gardner

Everyone experiences fear. It’s a jarring emotion that gets amplified by the reptilian fight or flight side of our human make up. The problem comes when the prompt is deliberately manufactured and therefore non-authentic, which is why the manipulators use it so frequently and to such an extent. Fear interferes with conscious awareness, clear thinking, true knowing and in turn conscious behavior and makes for a highly manipulable state of being.

It’s not only toxic and debilitating, but fear is contagious as well as addicting.

This lower level vibration of fear has many esoteric derivations and origins. Whether people are aware of the underlying spiritual nature of our Universe or not, it is profoundly real. Where we get these fear impulses is a subject unto itself that anyone on the path of truth comes upon, but we each experience these influences. One of the most profound realizations that comes from understanding fear, besides its use as a social engineering tool, is that fear is an intrinsic energy source for parasitic controllers and entities, both human and non-human. Understanding the archonic agenda as revealed by the Gnostics is essential for grasping the bigger picture.

They feed off of our energy. That realization is a powerful motivator to not give it to them. Fearing their machinations is falling into a voluntary slave mentality and literally a form of worship.

4 Eccentric Ways Trees Can Heal You

by Aletheia Luna
Loner Wolf

Fauns, elves, pixies, ghouls, trolls – the image of forests and woodlands arouse many feelings of mystery and intrigue. Not only do forests bring to mind mythical creatures, but they’re also the home of countless folklore tales and superstitions. Did you know that the Druids and the Germanic Pagans used to worship trees? No wonder the forest, in all its ethereal splendor, is the perfect place for us to take solitary strolls.

Interestingly, forests also provide the perfect place to holistically heal ourselves. All our daily tensions, struggles and woes can perish through some simple forest therapy. We all have forests, bush-lands, and woodlands near us. But how can we make the best out of these erudite ecosystems? You’ll find some suggestions below.

Go “Forest Bathing” (Shinrin Yoku)

This eccentric practice is believed by many Japanese people to enhance the immune system. And it’s scientifically proven as well. Just taking a short stroll through the forest or woodland can make you stronger and healthier. This is because the essential wood oils emitted in the air called phytoncides increase the number of killer cells in your body. These killer cells in turn help fight sickness and disease, like cancer, keeping you fit and fighting.

15 Air Purifying Plants to Remove Harmful Toxins

by Bembu

It’s possible to filter your indoor air with the right air purifying plants. The results are so proven that even NASA has concluded that the plants you choose for you home make a difference. Here are some of the best plants that will go to work making your indoor environment cleaner.

1. Peace Lily

One popular choice for an indoor houseplant is a Peace Lily. It’s a pretty plant even when it’s not blooming, and its flowers are pure white and can be very stunning against the dark green leaves.

Peace lilies can help keep your air free of ammonia, formaldehyde, benzene trichloroethylene, xylene and toluene, making it one of the most comprehensive indoor plants you can choose.

Poor indoor air quality is a common problem, and taking the simple step of adding an indoor plant like this is one way to clean it up.

Caring for it: Peace Lilies seem like they’re designed for indoor living, and can thrive without consistent watering and little sunlight. You’ll want to keep the soil moist, but not to the point of overwatering. It may sound counterintuitive but to encourage flower blooming you may need to move it away from sunlight.

Is Pain Real or Is It All In Your Head? Neuroscience Explains

“Pain feels like a fast stab wound to the heart. But then healing feels like the wind against your face when you are spreading your wings and flying through the air. We may not have wings growing out of our backs, but healing is the closest thing that will give us that wind against our faces.” ~C. Joybell
Do you remember growing up, going to the doctor’s office to get a vaccine shot —only to be crippled by the thought of having a sharp needle stuck in you? But for some strange reason, when your doctor took your attention off of the shot and onto whatever they were saying; the pain of the needle became unnoticeable. Now did the pain magically go away with your doctor’s kind words or is it that pain goes beyond just the physical sensation attached to it? Neuroscience is illustrating for the world, that perhaps pain is more bio-psychological than we had previously thought. In fact, pain is more in your head than you ever realized.

How India is Creating 300,000 Jobs AND Planting 2 Billion More Trees

by Amanda Froelich
True Activist

A new initiative in India will employ up to 300,000 youths in an effort to improve air quality and provide opportunities to the unemployed.

Chaotic, majestic, polluting, and entrancing – words that describe India in all her splendor, but also relay the imminent need for transformation and environmental remedy. A growing country with 1.25 billion people, profound spiritual secrets, and increasing global power, India has long fascinated the world. But now it is is taking initiative in an inventive way that will provide youth with jobs, as well as the country with pollution-reducing trees.

To tackle the two problems of pollution and youth unemployment , India has arranged to employ potentially up to 300,000 young citizens to plant 2 billion trees along the country’s highways!

Credit: Wikipedia

“The length of National Highways in the country is one lakh kilometer [about 62,137 miles]. I have asked officials to come out with a plan to plant 200 crore [2 billion] trees along these stretches which in turn would create jobs for the unemployed on the one hand and protect the environment on the other,” said Shipping and Rural Development Minister Nitin Jairam Gadkari.

Now two NEW large holes appear in Siberia

by The Siberian Times

Millions of people around the world glimpsed the first giant hole after it was revealed by The Siberian Times here and on The Siberian Times TV here.

Now news has emerged of two new similar formations in the permafrost, prompting more intrigue about their creation.

Theories range from meteorites, stray missiles, a man-made prank, and aliens, to an explosive cocktail of methane or shale gas suddenly exploding. The version about melting permafrost due to climate change, causing a release of methane gas, which then forces an eruption is the current favorite, though scientists are reluctant to offer a firm conclusion without more study.

The funnel is a perfectly formed cone, say locals who are mystified at how it was formed. Its depth is estimated at between 60 and 100 metres and its diameter - more than four metres. Picture: Local residents

Why Forgiveness Is Power

by Luminita Saviuc
Purpose Fairy

“To forgive is the highest, most beautiful form of love. In return, you will receive untold peace and happiness.” ~ Robert Muller

Do you consider yourself to be a forgiving or resentful person? If somebody has hurt you in the past or did something to make you suffer, would you hold on to those past events, thoughts and feelings, or would you just let them go?

I always say that where there is anger, hate, revenge, bitterness, there is also a lot of pain underneath, and I really believe that to be true. A person who is blissful and content with herself and the world around, no matter how many mean people she will encounter and no matter how much pain those people may cause her to feel, she will always respond with love, kindness and compassion instead of anger, hate and resentment. Loving people know that an eye for an eye would only leave the whole world blind, like Gandhi said it, and they choose to do no harm to the world around them.

“If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives: Be kind anyway. If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies: Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank people will try to cheat you: Be honest anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight: Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous of you: Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten by tomorrow: Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough: Give your best anyway.” ~ Mother Teresa

I know it’s a lot easier to give back exactly what you receive, and in this case, a lot of negativity, but we don’t want to do what’s easier, but rather what is best for our health, our well being and that of those around us. I know that people can be really mean sometimes, and that they can do horrible things to those they come in contact with, to those they love and care about, but I also believe that people can change, and this is why it’s so important to give up on your personal history that you might have had with those people, and allow them to show you just that.

If you keep an inner record of what this/that person did to you, and what they said to you, and how they made you feel, how much pain they may have caused you, etc. , every time you will come into contact with them, you will be reminded of all those things, and you will never be able to forgive and forget, nor to allow them to show you how sorry they are for what happened. No matter if they did all of those things on purpose or not, by holding on to grudge, anger or whatever it is that you are holding on to, you will bring even more pain upon your shoulders.

A [Not So] Brief Overview of DMT

by The Nexian

What Is DMT?

NN-Dimethyltryptamine, or DMT for short, is a short acting psychedelic entheogen that allows a person’s consciousness to encounter some of the most incredible experiences, visions, thoughts, and dimensions imaginable.

DMT is without doubt one of the most powerful, yet mysterious, psychedelics in existence, but to classify it as merely a drug would be to do it a great injustice. DMT is more of a trans-dimensional key into experiences so profound and awe-inspiring that it raises many questions regarding the nature of reality and our place within it.

DMT is naturally occurring in every human being and is also prevalent throughout the plant and animal kingdoms. It has been found in many mammals, marine animals, trees, grasses, and flowers.

DMT is closely related to serotonin, the naturally occurring neurotransmitter that psychedelics affect so widely. The pharmacology of DMT is similar to that of other well-known psychedelics. It affects receptor sites for serotonin in much the same way that LSD, psilocybin, and mescaline do. These serotonin receptors are widespread throughout the human body and can be found in blood vessels, muscle, glands, skin, and even in the gut.

Bad for Teeth, the Brain and Pineal Gland – Is Fluoridating Water Worth It?

Geweckt Indigo
Waking Times

Public water fluoridation is one of the most controversial topics today. The people who are advocates for water fluoridation, claim that adding this substance to the public water is beneficial to the community’s dental health because it hardens the enamel on teeth protecting it from acid and bacteria, making it easier for people to brush away oral bacteria and prevent tooth decay.

It’s also claimed that research shows that fluoridated water reduces a population’s rate of tooth decay between 40-70%.

However, when it comes to the “protective layer” that’s created by fluoride, studies conducted by Saarland University in Germany (published by Langmuir) shows that the “protective layer” is not actually useful. In fact, it’s 100 times thinner than it was previously believed, and that it’s actually 6 nanometers thick. An everyday activity like chewing food is enough to disintegrate this layer created by fluoride.

Other evidence suggests that countries with and without public fluoridated water, all have declining rates of tooth decay, so is medicating the public really worth it?

There is further evidence suggesting that fluoridated water is more harmful to human health than it is beneficial. Scientists and many health care professionals are calling for more research to be conducted on the matter and for the public to inform themselves.

Fluoride activists always claim that the public has seen a huge decline in tooth decay since the 1950s. (Recently many counties in the US have called for public water fluoridation hoping to better the oral health of low income families in the areas.) What many don’t realize is that this is a empty claim. A quick search on the WHO website shows that countries that do and that do not fluoridate their water have both seen a decline in tooth decay in minors. The U.S. fluoridates two-thirds of their public water and it still has higher rates of tooth decay than countries that do not fluoridate their water (like Belgium, Denmark, Sweden for an example).

Can spirituality survive in a hyper-connected society?

by David Gardner
The Conscious Reporter

We live in a fast-paced, hyper-connected society. While modern technology definitely has its benefits, does being constantly plugged in to technology, and relying on it for almost everything, erode the space for spirituality in our lives? How do we keep spirituality alive in our hyper-connected society?

When was the last time you went a whole day without technology? No smartphone, iPad, laptop, computer, electronic music device, GPS navigation system etc?

Can’t remember? That makes two of us.

In recent years, our lives have rapidly become more technologically-oriented and more connected than ever before in known history.

This obviously has its benefits:

  • You might be reading this article on your smartphone after a friend shared the link on Facebook;
  • Human rights issues are more widely publicised and supported than ever;
  • The open-source information community is advancing human understanding in many areas and providing information on important topics not covered by the mainstream media; and
  • You might have discovered life-changing spiritual information on the internet. Without the internet, spiritual seekers of old faced far greater challenges in their search for spiritual knowledge.

25 Recent Events Causing WW3 They Want You To Forget

Eric Blair
Activist Post

Remember when our rulers told us that regimes like Saddam, Gaddafi, and Assad were the epitome of evil and must be liberated because they allegedly killed their own citizens? Probably not. Americans have short memories.

I only remind you to let you know that the U.S. and other Western governments have reversed their stance on regimes killing their own citizens. They now fully endorse and support this rule-with-an-iron-fist so long as the victims can be successfully labeled "separatists" or "terrorists".

In fact, they want in on the action. The Pentagon began wargaming this week with the regime in Ukraine on how best to kill pesky citizens in Eastern Ukraine who oppose the U.S. Vice President's son stealing and fracking shale gas on their land.

People who defend their land and families are called "terrorists" when imperial powers want their resources. In turn, Western rulers call violent coups "duly elected" if they pledge allegiance to the IMF.

This situation is creating friction among the world's superpowers not seen since the Cold War. Obama recently expressed concern that "The old order isn’t holding and we’re not quite where we need to be in terms of a new order." Later in the speech he blamed uncooperative nations (read Russia) for standing in the way of the New World Order.

The symbol of the Swastika and its 12,000-year-old history

by John Black
Ancient Origins

The swastika is a symbol used by of one of the most hated men on Earth, a symbol that represents the slaughter of millions of people and one of the most destructive wars on Earth. But Adolf Hitler was not the first to use this symbol. In fact, it was used as a powerful symbol thousands of years before him, across many cultures and continents.

For the Hindus and Buddhists in India and other Asian countries, the swastika was an important symbol for many thousands of years and, to this day, the symbol can still be seen in abundance - on temples, buses, taxis, and on the cover of books. It was also used in Ancient Greece and can be found in the remains of the ancient city of Troy, which existed 4,000 years ago. The ancient Druids and the Celts also used the symbol, reflected in many artefacts that have been discovered. It was used by Nordic tribes and even early Christians used the Swastika as one of their symbols, including the Teutonic Knights, a German medieval military order, which became a purely religious Catholic Order. But why is this symbol so important and why did Adolf Hitler decide to use it?

The word ‘swastika’ is a Sanskrit word (‘svasktika’) meaning ‘It is’, ‘Well Being’, ‘Good Existence, and ‘Good Luck’. However, it is also known by different names in different countries - like ‘Wan’ in China, ‘Manji’ in Japan, ‘Fylfot’ in England, ‘Hakenkreuz’ in Germany and ‘Tetraskelion’ or ‘Tetragammadion’ in Greece.

A Sanskrit scholar P. R. Sarkar in 1979 said that the deeper meaning of the word is ‘Permanent Victory’. He also said that as any symbol it can have positive and negative meaning depending on how it is drawn. So in Hinduism, the right-hand swastika is a symbol of the God Vishnu and the Sun, while the left-hand swastika is a symbol of Kali and Magic. The double meaning of symbols is common in ancient traditions, like for example the symbol of the pentagram (five pointed star), which is viewed as negative when pointing downwards, and positive when pointing upwards.

Research Shows Synthetic Vitamins In ‘Fortified’ Breakfast Cereals Are Harming Children

by Natural Cures

Many breakfast cereals and breakfast bars marketed as being “fortified with vitamins” could actually be harming our children, causing damage to organ function and long term immune issues.

Many popular breakfast cereals boast at being “fortified with vitamins and minerals”. However these are merely synthetic imitations of essential nutrients. A new study, undertaken by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), has been looking into the levels of three nutrients in particular and the effect of them being added in synthetic form to many popular foods, namely zinc, niacin (also known as vitamin B3, and vitamin A.

There are well known health risks to diets containing insufficient levels of vitamins and minerals including scurvy, pellagra and rickets. Thankfully in developed nations diets have improved in the most part to ensure better natural vitamin intake.

But excessive intake also causes health issues. According to a recently published analysis of dietary intake data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2003-2006, from food alone 8% of 2 – 8 year old children consume too much niacin, 13% consume too much vitamin A and 45% consume too much zinc.

The research bythe EWG covered 1,556 breakfast cereals and 1,025 snack and energy bars. The vitamin content of vitamin A, zinc and niacin in these highly processed foods were compared to recommended daily values. They discovered that 114 different cereal brands had been fortified with levels of one or more of the vitamin A, zinc or niacin to the extent that levels exceeded the recommended daily amounts for adults by 30%. In addition 27 of the snack and energy bars were found to contain levels 50% higher than the recommended daily amount for adults.

10 Ways To Connect To The Earth and Others

by Josh Richardson

How do you feeling complete and connected to the Earth and others? It takes effort, but it is worth it. We must bring our focus outside of ourselves to allow us to reach out to people and to the world around us in positive ways. Loving, laughing, giving ourselves to others, spending time with friends and those in need to taking care of the environment or a companion animal, all promote positive interaction. Here are 10 steps to help you get connected.

1. Nature and Earth
If you think of nature as a hostile force that is separate from yourself, you will go through life unnecessarily afraid and cut off from one of the great sources of spiritual nourishment. Whether you connect with nature on wilderness trips or lunch breaks in a city park, you can always slow down and observe the infinite variety of her ways. One way to connect with nature is through plants: gardening, collecting plants from the wild, growing cactuses and flowering bulbs, and having unusual and useful plants in and around the home can all help promote connectedness with nature. Plants can enrich your daily life, bring comfort and joy, and remind you that however you think of yourself, you are also part of the natural world.

Change your Life through Conscious Breathing

by Garima Roy

“If I had to limit my advice on healthier living to just one tip, it would be simply to learn how to breathe correctly.” — Andrew Weil

At a recent Yoga class, the teacher mentioned the importance of breathing and how it is our companion for life. Breath is so much more than just oxygen supply; its the one thing that remains constant and keeps us alive. Morihei Ueshiba said, “Everything in heaven and earth breathes. Breath is the thread that ties creation together.”

Notice a new-born child sleeping. Just watching the child take deep breaths while he/she is asleep is meditative. You will see the abdomen expanding and contracting to its full capacity; this is nature. When we are born, it is natural for us to take deep breaths but as we grow up, our breath tends to become more and more unconscious and shallow. Our breath becomes shorter and never reaches the abdomen, and we think we are breathing normally.

Unconscious breathing is an ailment caused due to the modern day lifestyle. The fast-paced, always-on-foot life has led to wrong posture, constant slouching in front of the laptop and computers, no time to exercise and business suits that doesn’t let our skin breathe. How many times do you say to yourself, “Just breathe”? We are constantly exposed to situations where we actually find ourselves out of breathe.

Breath is the life-force energy or Prana. Our heart beats because of the breaths we take and due to this natural bodily function, energy is disseminated to each and every part of our body. Unconscious and disordered breathing can lead to heart and respiratory diseases, muscle cramps, numbness, reduced cognition, panic attacks, superficial blood flow which in turn can lead to host of diseases. Therefore, its crucial and advisable to practice conscious breathing.
